Research Center

JSC “SPE “Radiy” has its own research center with an extensive park of the latest scientific and technological equipment, its own physico-chemical laboratory. Here the company carries out breakthrough developments, implementation and subsequent commercialization in the field of electronics, agricultural technologies, new materials and medicine.

Highly qualified specialists of the research center work in close cooperation with the Russian Academy of Sciences. New promising directions are developing in the field of development of agrotechnical complexes of wide application. In particular, waste-free processes of utilization of phosphogypsum have been developed to obtain a new phosphate-magnesium fertilizer (Patents of the Russian Federation 2 610 186 (2017); 2 630 072 (2017). Currently, various varieties of this fertilizer under the commercial names “Serpophos” and “Fosfomar” have successfully passed expert tests at the Faculty of Soil Science of Lomonosov Moscow State University, in the Scientific Research Institute of Agrochemistry named after D.N. Pryanishnikov and Erisman Scientific Centre of Hygiene and obtained permits for Rospotrebnadzor. In accordance with the developed technology, phosphogypsum is pre-purified from radioactive and heavy metals using serpentinite. Serpentinite, which has large deposits in many regions of Russia, including the Urals and the North Caucasus, is itself a valuable meliorant and magnesium fertilizer. The resulting composite fertilizer contains phosphorus completely absorbed by plants, while it has a prolonged effect. Valuable components are not washed out of it by soil waters, it is a mild neutralizer of acidic soils, maintains humidity and has good drainage properties.. After assimilation by plants, the fertilizer residues turn into a soil substrate. The results obtained make it possible to simultaneously solve one of the most serious environmental problems associated with large-scale utilization of phosphogypsum waste.
